Our hay fever treatment helps control the symptoms of hay fever and persistent allergic rhinitis. It is also known as Neuro modulator medicine. It avoids the use of typical hay fever treatments like nasal sprays including decongestants, or nasal steroid or cortisone sprays, as well as daily antihistamine tablets. The Neuro Modulator blockades the nasal nerve endings basically just bypasses the immune system from ever becoming stimulated by the environmental allergies that are breathed in and reacted to.
Treatment for wrinkles is by injection, however the mucosa surface lining of the nasal cavity is so thin, its nerve receptors can absorb the Neuro Modulator directly from topical application. This means that you can have the treatment without any pain from needles. The treatment does not ‘cure’ hay fever but controls it and prevents the symptoms by blocking the body’s immune system from having to respond to the allergic stimulus.
The risks of the hay fever treatment are minimal with no serious side effects reported afterwards. The treatment has no downtime, and is neither uncomfortable or painful.
The treatment is not suitable for those who are pregnant or breastfeeding or with an allergy to Neuro Modulators (anti-wrinkle treatment).
Every care is taken to deliver the Neuro Modulator in a manner which is as comfortable as possible for our patients, however the treatment may cause a minor hay fever attack that can last up to 10 minutes. When the Neuro Modulator is applied inside the nose, the throat will not be affected as the treatment is rubbed onto the nasal lining only and does not run into the throat.
Aftercare for the hay fever treatment is fairly straightforward. We advise no nose blowing or vigorous exercise for 4 hours post-treatment. If you have the urge or need to sneeze, please pinch your nose tightly for the first 4 hours post treatment.
Continued use of regular anti-allergy medications such as antihistamines may still be required as the treatment takes effect over 2 weeks. Cessation of medication can occur once symptoms improve. If symptoms persist after 2 weeks, please contact the clinic.
Each patient is individual and response to treatment will vary from patient to patient and treatment to treatment. As such it is difficult to guarantee outcomes will always meet your expectations. Individuals may require more than one treatment to see them through the entire summer.
